When we first bought our house with granite counters, I was too scared to use a cleaning product on the countertops because I didn't want to cause the sealant to break down. Typically, I would just fill my sink with water and dish detergent and clean the counters with simple soap and water.
But sometimes it's just more convenient to spray a product on the counter to clean them. So, I found this DIY Granite Cleaner that I tried, and it works perfectly. I use it just about every day to clean my counters.
All you need is:
- ¼ teaspoon Dawn Dish Detergent
- ¼ cup Rubbing Alcohol
- 2 ½ cups Water
- Spray Bottle
Combine the products together in your spray bottle and you can use it on your granite counters.
Be sure to use a towel to dry after using so you don't get streak marks. I love this cleaner, since it's so easy to spray and wipe, and my counters look fantastically shiny!
Please note: be sure to label your spray bottles. You don't want to accidentally use a DIY cleaner (like my window cleaner) that contains vinegar since vinegar will start to break down the sealant on granite.

Hi! Does it have to be dawn soap? Thanks!

I've just always heard to use Dawn because it's great at degreasing, but you can try it with any dish soap.
