Is there anything worse than cleaning the bathroom? Unfortunately, the bathroom is one of those rooms that needs to be cleaned often and often needs to be deep cleaned.
Deep cleaning the bathroom may not be on your list of favorite things to do, but it could keep you and your family from getting sick. Let’s take a closer look at how to deep clean your bathroom.
Wipe Down the Top of Your Medicine Cabinet
You would not believe how much dust settles on the top of your medicine cabinet. Worse yet, this dust mixes with the humidity in your bathroom to create a thick layer of nastiness. If you haven’t cleaned up there in a while, you’ll likely find a layer of dust that reminds you of the lint you’ll find in your dryer.
Clean Accessories
Remove all the little doodads from your counters and shelves and clean with an all-purpose cleaner. Set these aside until the surfaces are clean.
Use a Sponge Mop to Clean Down the Walls
One of the easiest ways to clean bathroom walls is to use a damp sponge mop that has all-purpose cleaner on it. This will cut out a lot of the backbreaking labor. You can also use the sponge mop to clean your baseboards.
Sanitize Surfaces
Next, you want to work on sanitizing the shelves and counters in your bathroom. There are a number of cleaners you can choose from. You can also make your own cleaner mixing one-cup white vinegar, one-cup warm water, and a couple drops of Dawn dish detergent. The vinegar acts as a sanitizer, but you can add 10 drops of tea tree oil for even more sanitizing power. If you want to improve the scent, add lavender oil as well.
Scrub Down the Tub and Shower
Purchase a cleaning brush that has a handle that holds cleaner. Pour in half white vinegar and half Dawn dish soap (my DIY Bathroom Soap Scum Recipe). This will take care of any soap scum, hard water stains, etc. You will not believe how easily this cleaner cuts through the grim.
Clean the Toilet Inside and Out
Give the toilet a good scrubbing inside and out. You can also clean out the tank to help keep your toilet bowl cleaner.
Use a Bleach Cleaner on the Floor
Last, but not least, your bathroom floor is the most disgusting area in your home. Take the time to give it a thorough cleaning with a bleach-based cleaner (being careful not to get bleach on your skin).
Deep cleaning your bathroom isn’t fun, but it can keep your family healthier. Take the time do give your bathroom a good scrubbing.

Great tips! I have to admit I never actually bleach the floors myself (I hire a tile cleaner because I hate it!) but the rest of these are great tips I will follow! Thanks!
