In my quest for a slower and more meaningful December spent with friends and family, I plan on completing 30 Days of tasks to get ready for Christmas before Thanksgiving...and I invite you to join me.
Day 9: Start Buying Gifts Now
Now that you've brainstormed some gift ideas and you know what you already have purchased, you should be able to start purchasing the rest of the gifts on your list.
You're going to want to determine the basic retail price of each item you plan to purchase and try to keep an eye out for when the price drops to a good deal.
You can start to look for the best deals now, and Amazon has announced that they will start their Black Friday deals on November 19. All week long, they will have great deals on toys, electronics, music, movies, and more. In the past, many of the Lightning Deals were price matches to the Black Friday deals at other retailers. I would much rather shop for Black Friday deals at home than wake up early and fight the crowds!
My shopping plan:
I typically do the majority of my Christmas shopping between now and Cyber Monday. I personally hate to brave the stores during December since I don't tend to be patient enough to deal with crowds (except on Black Friday, amazingly).
I love to shop online (especially when shipping is free). Why wouldn't I prefer the UPS or Fed Ex person to do all the work for me?
I already have 1 gift purchased for my youngest nephew and a few other things (as well as a couple of stocking stuffers) for my boys. Other than that, I'm still waiting on gifts ideas for nieces and nephews.
What about you? What items do you have on your gift list? Leave a comment, and I'll try to find (and share) good deals on those items throughout the season.
