We all know that spring cleaning is important. It’s a time to tackle those areas that don’t always get the amount of love they need.
However, you may not always have a lot of time to devote to it. What are you supposed to clean when your time is limited?
Before you go around the house cleaning a bit of this and that, read this post. Let’s look at what you should spring clean if you only have a weekend.
Tackle High Traffic Areas
There are areas of your home that get a lot of traffic. It might be the mudroom, entryway, front porch, etc. In these areas, clean the room from top to bottom. For example, start by dusting the room from top to bottom. Next, wash the walls and windows, and then clean the floors. You also want to declutter the room and tidy it up. This will make a huge difference in those areas.
Clean the Most Used Rooms
The high traffic areas are the ones that everyone is going to see. You also want to clean the most used rooms of your home that your family uses daily. This includes the kitchen, main and master bath, and living/family room. These are also the areas that guests are going to see. Guests usually aren’t going to see your kids’ bedrooms or playroom or your master bedroom. Focus on the areas that may be under scrutiny from the mother-in-law.
Do the Guest Bathroom
Last, but not least, don’t forget the guest bathroom. While this bathroom may not be used very often, you want to make sure to give it a deep cleaning while spring cleaning. Again, start at the top and work your way down. Dust the ceiling and walls, wash the walls and windows, clean the shower and tub, wash the toilet inside and out, clean the sink, and clean the floors.
You may only have one weekend, but during that one weekend you can tackle the most important areas of your home. Spring cleaning doesn’t have to mean cleaning the entire house in one go.
For most people, that’s simply impossible. Break up your spring cleaning tasks so that you can tackle them over a few weekends. Start with the most important areas and go from there. Your home will look better weekend by weekend and you won’t be exhausted from doing it all at once.
