These Turkey Krispie Treats are super cute for Thanksgiving, and they're easy to make. Using Rice Krispies cereal, you'll make your own Rice Krispie Treats and then create the turkey using Reese's miniature peanut butter cups, candy corn, Reese's pieces, red chocolate melts, and candy eyes.
You can serve ready-made or have the kids add the turkey toppings as a fun activity on Thanksgiving day (or a school Thanksgiving party).
Line a deeper (1") baking sheet with parchment paper and place the Reese's Miniatures in freezer for 15 minutes.
In a Large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Add the Rice Krispies cereal and mix well. Remove from heat and allow to sit about 3 minutes.
Butter your hands or use wax paper to press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan. Focus on getting the 1" depth and only fill as much the sheet as you can while keeping the thickness.
Allow the Rice Krispie treats to set for at least 10 minutes.
Using a 2" cookie cutter, biscuit cutter or drinking glass, cut out circles.
Place red candy melting chips in corner of zippered sandwich bag and microwave for 45 seconds. Gently massage the melted candy to insure that it is smooth and completely melted. If not, microwave for another 15 seconds.
Clip the very tip of the corner of bag to allow you to pipe on candy. Using the candy as glue, attach Reese's miniature to the bottom half of circle. Then use the candy to attach 5 candy corns around upper half of miniature to be tail feathers. Again using the candy as glue, attach the Reese's Piece to the bottom half of the miniature on its edge as beak, and then attach the eyes above the beak. Pipe on a waddle down the bottom of the miniature below the beak.
Refrigerate for 10 minutes allow the melted chocolate to set.
