Easter is one of our favorite holidays to celebrate, and we love these Resurrection Tomb Cupcakes! Not only are they delicious, but they are easy to make. All you need is your favorite cupcake recipe, frosting, powdered donuts, and marshmallows to create a representation of the empty tomb on Easter morning.
Bake your favorite cupcakes using either a scratch recipe or a box cake mix. On the cupcakes, spread a line of chocolate frosting to represent the garden path.
Pipe green frosting on each cupcake to resemble grass around the chocolate path.
Gently cut ⅓ off each doughnut to create a flat surface where the “tomb” can rest against the icing when the cupcake is assembled.
Cut each marshmallow in half and dip the sticky side in white sugar.
Press a doughnut “tomb” against the icing where the path meets the grass. Then, press a sugared marshmallow to the side of the doughnut to represent the stone that was rolled away. Sprinkle flower sprinkles over the green icing and press lightly to attached.
