
We love to eat donuts, and this mini chocolate donuts recipe is yummy! You can drizzle frosting over the top and add sprinkles in any color you choose (such as red, white, and blue sprinkles to make your donuts patriotic for the 4th of July or Memorial Day!).
Mini Chocolate Donuts Recipe

Create these yummy mini chocolate donuts and add frosting stripes and sprinkles to coordinate with the holiday (such as red, white, and blue sprinkles for the 4th of July).
Ingredients
- Mini doughnut maker
- Pam spray
- 2 cups plus 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoon unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 2 large egg yolk
- 1 cup buttermilk, shaken
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 container of vanilla frosting
- Decorative sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Spray your doughnut pan with cooking spray and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, combine together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Over medium heat, add the butter to a saucepan
- Allow to stand and melt for a minute or two and then mix with a spatula until smooth.
- Turn the heat off and then stir in the sugar and egg yolk.
- Lastly, whisk in the buttermilk and vanilla extract.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix just until you no longer see any speckles of flour.
- Fill in the cake maker on one side, being sure not to overflow. Make sure to have a paper towel under the machine in case any batter comes out of the sides.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes max.
- Remove the lid and foil from the container of icing and microwave for 30 seconds. Mix the melted frosting with a fork.
- Once the donuts are cooled, place onto a plate and drizzle the icing
- Add decorative sprinkles, if desired.
