You want to give cash as a gift, but that can be a boring-looking gift (no matter how excited the recipient is!).  Solve that problem with this Mason Jar Money Gift Fake-Out.  It looks like you're giving a jar of candy, when really tucked inside is cold hard cash.  The recipient won't have a clue until he or she opens the mason jar!

You can use holiday M&M's for Christmas or just regular M&M's for a birthday or graduation gift (or really any candy you'd like).  I used peanut M&M's, because that's what we like best, but it would work easier with plain M&M's size-wise.

Just take a mason jar, add an empty toilet paper roll to the center and place M&M's around the outside of the toilet paper roll for the fake-out.  Fill the M&M's up to the top so you can't see the toilet paper roll.  Add your cash inside the toilet paper roll and close the jar.  Use ribbon, a gift label, and any cute holiday tchotchke you can find to add to the decoration.  Super cute!

Instructions

1. Insert the empty toilet paper roll into the empty mason jar
2. Add M&M's around the outside of the toilet paper roll up to the top of the jar
3. Insert cash into the toilet paper roll
4. Add ribbon, a label, and any decorations desired to the outside of the mason jar
