Even though we have handles on our cabinets, we still get fingerprints on the ones that are most used by my kids. Our cabinets are pretty new, but yours might also have years of grease layered with those fingerprints (I know our 30-year-old cabinets in Michigan sure did!).
You can clean all the grease and gunk (and everything else) off your cabinets with a mixture of warm water, Dawn dish detergent, and distilled white vinegar in a bowl.
Just dip a cloth into the solution and use to clean, wiping along the grain of the wood. Be sure to dry your cabinets after washing, especially if they are wood.
For even tougher cleaning, you can also mix up a paste of baking soda and water and use it on the toughest spots and then follow up with the Dawn/vinegar solution.
Finally, you can make your cabinets shine by adding a coat of orange, lemon, or mineral oil.
