When I'm cleaning our shower, I tend to forget to look up to the showerhead and clean it also. But, over time, it builds up deposits on the head and can even eventually block the water from coming through.
So, every once in awhile, I use this this super easy DIY Showerhead Cleaner. It takes only a few ingredients that you probably already have on hand and a few minutes of your time. You'll need:
- Distilled White Vinegar
- Plastic Bag
- Tie or Rubber Band
We moved into our house about two and a half years ago, and as far as I know the showerhead has never been cleaned. We had a small mineral deposit on the bottom of the showerhead, so I added enough vinegar to a plastic bag to cover the entire showerhead and attached it with a rubber band.
Leave the bag over your showerhead for about 12 hours. When you take the bag off, you may need to scrub with a toothbrush to get any residue off. I kept the vinegar on my showerhead for about 6 hours. When I took it off, it was completely clean with no scrubbing needed.

Great minds think alike!!! I just did this on Monday this week, too. I went on a vinegar cleaning spree in my house. I also through my shower curtain liner in with a load of towels and vinegar. Stopping by from Frugal Friday. Have a great weekend!
