Arm & Hammer Baking Soda can be used in hundreds of ways to safely clean and deodorize without harsh chemicals. So, I decided to try using Arm & Hammer Baking Soda and vinegar for our bathroom drain that was starting to drain a little slow. Here's what you need for the project:
- Arm & Hammer Baking Soda - ½ cup
- Vinegar - 1 cup
Pour in the baking soda followed by the vinegar. Let it sit for 10 to 20 minutes and then flush with very hot water.
As soon as I poured in the vinegar over the baking soda, the solution started to fizz and go down the drain. I set the timer for 20 minutes and let it sit. After the 20 minutes, I started the water in the tub to bring the hot water to the bathroom, and then I flushed the solution in the sink drain with the hot water.
The drain seems to be working better, and I'm happy that I didn't have to add any harsh chemicals that I have to worry about my kids getting into.
I would definitely recommend that you are proactive with using the baking soda and vinegar combination - maybe schedule one day each month to clean your drains. I wouldn't necessarily wait until it's clogged, but it worked well for a routine cleaning.
