High school is the home stretch. It’s almost time for the freedom of being an adult. However, there are still many more classes to make it through. If you’re a freshman, you may even feel a sense of dread. Entering high school can be scary for some. Thankfully, there are some hacks that will make life easier. Let’s look at some high school hacks.
Choose a Locker in the Center of Your Classes
If you don’t want to be stuck lugging your books around from class to class, choose a locker that is easily accessible from all your classes (if you have a choice). For example, if your high school is three stories, and you have classes on all three levels, choose a locker on the second floor. This way, it’s always easily accessible.
Get a Shelf for Your Locker
It’s a simple thing, but many people never consider it. A shelf added to your locker can greatly improve your storage. This will make it much easier to stay organized. Look at the locker organization supplies available and choose the things you feel would help you the most.
Be sure to buy a locker shelf that's sturdy. We bought this locker shelf for my boys a few years ago, and it's still going strong for each of them! The cheaper wire one that I bought the previous year was such a pain and always falling down.
Carpool
Why spend all your money on gas? Get together with a couple of friends and carpool. This way, everyone shares the cost of the gas. It’s a much better solution than riding the bus. It gives you a sense of freedom without the expense.
Start Everything Early
Look, there are times when you just want to hang out with friends or may even want to work another shift to make more money. If you start projects and assignments early, you give yourself a bit of room. Start early and work ahead whenever possible. You'll need to stay organized for this to be possible.
Try a New Study Technique
Is your current study technique working for you? If you find it hard to focus, you may need to consider what you’re doing wrong. Maybe you need to find a quiet area (like a homework station). Maybe you need to turn off your phone. Maybe you need to have classical music playing in the background. Stop letting yourself get distracted. The easier it is to focus, the less time studying will take.
Take Breaks
Last, but not least, when working on assignments or studying for a test, take breaks. For example, work for 25 minutes and then take a 5-minute break. These small breaks can make a huge difference.
High school can be a lot easier when you use these hacks. If you want to make the most of your time and money, use these hacks.
