Grilled Fruit Kabobs
Grilled fruit kabobs couldn't be any easier to make. You can make these kid-friendly or give them more adult flavor by drizzling with a delicious sauce. First things first. Soak skewers in water for around 30 minutes and then skewer on your favorite fruits cut into pieces. Great choices include pineapple, strawberries, peaches, plums, and apricots. You want to avoid soft fruits, such as banana, that may fall off the skewer as they get hot. Grill the fruit skewers and then top with vanilla ice cream for kids or drizzle with a mixture of honey, lime juice, and dried lavender for a more adult dessert.
Dessert Pizza
Pizza is great on the grill and dessert pizza is even better. All you need to do is grill your pizza dough until cooked on both sides. Remove from the grill and allow to cool for 5 minutes before spreading with chocolate hazelnut spread, peanut butter, sweetened cream cheese, or chocolate peanut butter. You can then top with sliced fruits or different kinds of candy. This is a big hit with people of all ages.
S'mores
Don't want to spend the time roasting marshmallows for s'mores? Build individual s'mores on pieces of foil and wrap tightly. When you turn off the grill after cooking your meal, place the packs on the grill and close. Allow to heat for 5 to 10 minutes or until the marshmallow is soft and the chocolate is starting to melt. You can make s'mores with any types of cookies and chocolate. Try different combinations for something unique.
Stuffed Bananas
If you love bananas, try cutting bananas from one end to the other, lengthwise. Only cut the bananas ⅔ of the way through, making sure the skin on the other side stays intact. Squish the ends towards one another to make a larger cavity and add chocolate chips, marshmallows, nuts, little candies, etc. Wrap each banana in aluminum foil and place on the grill for around 5 minutes, just until everything starts to melt.
Grilled Banana Split
Do you love banana splits? Why not kick the flavor up a few notches by grilling the fruit? Start by slicing bananas in half lengthwise. Do not peel the bananas. Next, cut slices of pineapple and skewer strawberries on water-soaked skewers. Grill for 3 to 5 minutes. Peel the bananas and place in an ice cream dish. Top with vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream. Chop the pineapple and place on the vanilla ice cream and chop the strawberries and place on the strawberry ice cream. Finish off the banana split by adding hot fudge to the chocolate ice cream and topping with whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry.
