5 Car Cleaning Hacks

If your car is like mine, it's so difficult to keep it clean with kids. Try these 5 car cleaning hacks for ideas on how to keep the interior of your car clean, including the seats and carpet.

Does anyone really like to clean their car? While it can certainly be tempting to take your car to a full-service car wash, it can cost you. Thankfully, there are things you can do to easily get your car clean and keep it clean. Let’s take a closer look at car cleaning hacks.

Use a Squeegee to Remove Dog Hair

Do you love to take your dog with you wherever you go? Chances are you have a lot of dog hair covering your car seats. Instead of going over the area again and again with a vacuum, use a squeegee to move all the hair to edge of the seat and then vacuum it up. The squeegee works so well. If your dog’s hair is stubborn, try spraying the area with a bit of water before using the squeegee. You can pick up a squeegee in almost any Dollar Tree.

Clean Surfaces with Inexpensive Tools

Speaking of the Dollar Tree, you can pick up foam brushes to help you dust these tiny areas of your car. Use the foam brush in combo with a vacuum to suck up the dust as it’s brushed off. You can also pick up a Magic Eraser at the Dollar Tree and use it to clean the leather and vinyl areas of your car as well as your tire rims. If you have some REALLY gunky areas on the leather or vinyl, use a toothbrush and a bit of car surface cleaner to get those areas clean.

Get Rid of Smells

If your car smells really bad, it may be time to replace the air filter. If you don’t want to do this very often, get a washable cabin air filter. These last up to 75,000 miles. Chances are you’ll replace your car before you replace your filter again. Another great way to keep your car smelling fresh is to place a wax melt in a salt shaker. The heat from inside the car will heat the wax melt enough to fill your car with a great scent.

Wash Your Floor Mats

Want your floor mats to be sparkling clean? You can throw your upholstered floor mats in the washing machine and you can throw the rubber or plastic mats in the top rack of your dishwasher. No more scrubbing!

Keep Your Car Clean

If you want to keep your car clean, add a trash can to your car. This prevents yourself and the kids throwing things wherever and ending up with a big mess. Another great tip is to line your cup holders with cupcake liners to help keep them clean. You also want to make sure you have a place for everything. There are many car organizers on the market that will allow you to keep your car clutter-free.

These car cleaning hacks will make your life much easier and keep your car clean for longer.
