What You Should be Buying at Dollar Tree

I'll admit it - Dollar Tree is one of my favorite stores to shop at! It’s packed with so many different items and each time I go in there is something new and fun that catches my attention.

They have everything from craft items, toys, home décor and SO much more. If you have not been in a Dollar Tree recently I think you’ll be surprised at how many name brand items you will find when your shopping.
Keep in mind just because the item is $1 doesn’t mean everything you see is a bargain. Being a seasoned Dollar Tree shopper, I have some great tips for you all on what to buy at Dollar Tree, including.

Seasonal Items:

This is probably my favorite section of the Dollar Tree! There are always new items and you can save SO much money on seasonal décor for your home. In the fall, my store is packed with Halloween costumes, scarecrows and scented candles. Since we are heading into summer, they have lots of great items for the patio, grilling out, water toys, and lots of fun stuff for a SUPER fun 4th of July party.

Party Décor & Gift Items:

This is my go to stop when it comes to parties, and the party supply section is tied with seasonal décor as my most favorite spot in Dollar Tree. They carry a colorful assortment of gift bags, wrapping paper, cups, plates, napkins and more. You can also pick up great deals on greeting cards, balloons, Thank you Notes, and tablecloths.

I don’t recommend purchasing the plastic silverware since it's pretty thin and breaks easily. I think you’ll be pretty surprised that Dollar Tree carries just about everything you need to host a great party on a budget.

Pet Supplies:

If you have a new puppy, you’ll want to pick up your training pads at Dollar Tree.  They are just as nice as the ones you find at the pet store. You can also find name brand cat and dog treats as well as name brand pet food.  However, I have noticed with grocery store sales that you can typically get a better deal than purchasing at Dollar Tree. I would not purchase the pet toys; they are made cheaply and pose a choking risk to your pets.

Personal Care Items:

Dollar Tree carries tons of personal care items that you can get a good prices.  Plus, Dollar Tree accepts manufacturer's coupons.  You can normally find 2 aisles packed full of great items such as:

• Lotions
• Travel Size Bottles
• Hair Accessories
• Makeup sponges
• Socks
• Name brand medicine
• Name brand toothpaste/ toothbrushes
• Name brand makeup
• Shaving cream
• Mouthwash
• Pill organizers
• Nail sets – great party favor idea for girls

Craft Supplies:

Craft supplies can be pretty expensive, and I think you’ll be surprised you can find items such as beads, mugs, plates, vases, plain t-shirts, glitter and simple items to make great crafts with kids.

Kids Toys:

Dollar Tree is jam packed with all sorts of cheap toys. Granted these items won’t last long but for items like big bottles of bubbles, hula-hoops, jump ropes, card games, puzzles, glow sticks, you can’t go wrong for just $1.  The toys are also a great option for party favors for birthday parties.

Batteries:

Yes, Dollar Tree also carries batteries! I was skeptical at first thinking they would not last but they DO!
