It’s that time of year when you are worrying about backpacks and the correct books and new clothes. Don’t let yourself forget about the all-important afterschool snacks! Otherwise you know that as soon as the kids come in the door and ask for their snack all you will have is some stale crackers in the pantry.
Here are some super simple snacks that you can whip up in a hurry for when your kids come home from school.
Chocolately Bananas
Ingredients:
- Chocolate Syrup
- Whipped Topping
- Fresh Bananas
Slice up some fresh bananas and top with a drizzle of chocolate syrup and a dollop of whipped topping.
Strawberries and Cream Sandwich
Ingredients:
- Sandwich Bread
- Fresh Strawberries
- Cream Cheese
Slice up some strawberries. Spread cream cheese (strawberry cream cheese would be great for this!) on the bread (you can also make toast). Top the cream cheese with the sliced strawberries and the other half of the sandwich.
Peanut Butter Banana Grams
Ingredients:
- Peanut Butter
- Banana
- Graham Crackers
Spread peanut butter over a graham cracker. Top with sliced bananas.
Quick Smoothies
Ingredients:
- Frozen Strawberries
- Yogurt
- Orange Juice
In a blender, mix a blend of frozen strawberries, orange juice, and yogurt. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Cheese N Fruit Kabobs
Ingredients:
- Your Childs Favorite Fruits
- Cheddar or Mozzarella Cheese
- Kabob Skewers
Slice the fruits and add onto a kabob skewer, alternating with various cheeses for a fulfilling snack!
Don’t forget about the other quick fast foods such as apples, string cheese, trail mix, dried fruit, and other simple, ready to go foods. With these quick and easy snacks your kids will be satisfied until dinner! And the best part is that they took you hardly any time to throw together and feature (mostly) healthy ingredients!
