Emergency Kit: Be sure to pack some medicines in case someone doesn't feel well. Include headache/pain relief medicine, stuff for upset tummy and diarrhea, as well as some first aid supplies like adhesive bandages. Store it all in a sandwich bag and put it under the seat in your car. That way if you need something, you have it handy. Plastic trash bags are good to take as well, in case someone is sick or gets car sick.
Gas Buddy App: Download the Gas Buddy app to help you to find the cheapest gas near you. It's a great way to save money on gas.
Drop a Pin: If you are in an unfamiliar and big city, drop a pin on your map app on phone to help you to remember where you parked, and not get lost.
Traffic Jams: If you find yourself stuck in traffic, look for semi's and see which lane they are in. They have radios and tend to be in the best lane that moves the fastest. However, if you are coming up on your exit, then sit tight and don't change lanes.
Snacks: Grab a bin or caddy at your dollar store and use it to store snacks. You can divide your favorite crackers and cookies into single serve amounts and store them in sandwich bags. Then when someone is hungry just hand them the bin to pick out a snack. It will save tons of money on getting food at gas stations and you can snack whenever you want on the go.
