Do you dread opening up your mail or answering your phone because you fear it's going to be someone telling you that you owe money? Do you worry about your future every month because you don't have any money in savings, and even one small setback can turn into a financial disaster? Or perhaps you wish you had more money each month?
If either of those scenarios are true for you, make this is the year that you face your financial problems head on and create a lasting change. Yes, it will likely take some hard work and sacrifice, but the freedom you'll feel from being debt free and having control of your finances will be amazing!
Even if you feel like you mostly have your finances under control, are there small changes that you can make to improve your financial life?
Rather than just creating an overall resolution to get your finances in order, choose a goal like some of the ideas below to get you started:
- Get out of Debt
- Create a Budget that Works for my Family
- Cut Expenses
- Save for a Specific Goal (like a new car, vacation, Christmas, college, retirement)
- Pay off my Mortgage Early
If you have a specific goal, it will be so much easier to break it into achievable steps that you really can do! Over the next month, I plan to share some of my tips and tricks to help you as you work towards your financial goals.
What is your financial New Year's Resolution? Share in the comments, and hopefully I can help you make some financial changes in your life.
