Are you looking for a great Halloween costume, but don't want to pay the money for store-bought? Or, maybe you want something unique. Either way, a homemade costume is always a fun idea. Whether you choose to be a Gothic vampire fairy or a zombie hunter, you can create an awesome homemade Halloween costume.
Gothic Vampire Fairy
This is a great costume for teens and young adults. For this costume, you will need to buy a couple things from the store. You'll need a set of fairy wings in dark colors and vampire teeth. Then all you need to do is pair the wings with a Gothic outfit, dramatic makeup, and a great hairstyle. You could also buy a wig to drastically change up your hair.
Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory
This Halloween costume is so, so easy. All you need is a tee shirt, jeans, and a messenger bag. This costume is more about adopting the attitude of the character than the outfit. Regardless, it's a fun idea that everyone is sure to love.
50s, 60s, 70s, or 80s Chick or Dude
Do you love a certain decade? Why not create a costume based on that decade? It might be a 50s biker chick, a hippie, or hipster. Just have fun with it. You may even have some clothing in your closet that allows you to make this costume. If not, hit your local thrift stores for fun and cheap outfits.
Zombie Hunter
If you're looking for another easy costume idea, goes as a zombie hunter. Grab some old clothing from your closet (a zombie hunter has probably been wearing the same clothes for a while) and then add a bunch of weapon accessories. You can find a lot of props in the Halloween supplies or in the toy section of many stores. Lastly, make yourself look rugged and worn – like you've been fighting zombies for several years.
Crazy Cat Lady
Last, but not least, everyone will laugh at this cute costume. All you need is a sweatsuit or tracksuit, Velcro, and cat stuffed animals. Attach the stuffed animals to the suit using the Velcro and you're done. The more cats you attach, the better. You can also use a paw print stamp and fabric paint to put paw prints all over the suit.
You don't have to spend a lot of money to have a great Halloween costume. All you need is a bit of time and imagination.
