It's a holiday tradition that I make fudge for the family every year. I've been making (or helping make) my mom's fudge recipe since I was a girl. Although once I had my own family, I started adding nuts to the recipe because everything is just better with nuts (in my opinion!).
If you're not a fan of nuts, it's not necessary to add them. And, I've made it half with nuts and half without in the past to please differing taste buds. I have also varied the type of chocolate chips that I've used - ranging from regular semi-sweet chips to Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Chips that I used this year (for my husband...I'd use dark chocolate chips if they were just for me!).
