Who said you had to go out for Valentine’s Day? Staying at home can be just as romantic. Best of all, you’ll save a lot of money. Instead of paying for an overpriced meal and childcare, you can enjoy a laid back meal or activity at home.
If your kids are young, put them to bed a bit early and have date night at home, including some of these Valentine’s date night activities at home.
Watch a Movie and Order Pizza
Candlelit dinners are overrated and overpriced. Find a movie you’ll both enjoy on Netflix or another streaming service and order a pizza. It can be so nice to sit back and relax with your spouse. There’s no pressure to make sure everything is perfect. Your husband also doesn’t have to suffer through a chick flick.
Paint Together
Have you both wanted to try a new hobby? Why not do so on date night? It doesn’t have to be painting. It could be anything you want to try. Though painting can be very relaxing. You can turn on some romantic music and enjoy conversation as you put your thoughts on canvas.
Have Spa Night
Now if you want to treat each other really well, have a spa night. Take a hot bath together. Give each other a massage. Play relaxing music in the background. This, my friends, is the beginning of a wonderful night together.
Read a Book Together
Another romantic Valentine’s date night activity at home is to read a book together. It could be one of the classics. It could be a current bestseller. It could be the Bible. Choose something you both find interesting.
Play Board Games
Dust off the board games and have a night of playing Monopoly, Scrabble, Life, or whatever other game you both love. You might even want to search for a new game to play. Though they are getting harder and harder to find, there are still game stores out there that sell board games. You can also go online to Amazon and find hundreds of options.
Cook Together
Last, but not least, cook a meal together. If you never cook together, you’ll be amazed at how romantic it can be. Feed each other as you cook. Listen to some music. Dance in the kitchen while waiting for something to finish cooking. Make it fun and romantic.
Spending Valentine’s Day at home doesn’t have to be a bad thing. There are so many Valentine’s date night activities you can do at home that are romantic.
