Although I love to use paper coupons, there is an easier alternative. ECoupons - they are electronic coupons that you can load onto your grocery store loyalty cards. When you purchase one of the products, the coupon value will automatically be deducted from your total. To use each program, you will need to register and add your store loyalty card information, so that the coupon is loaded into your account.
There are several eCoupon programs available:
- Cellfire - works at all the Kroger branded stores. The coupons just reset on 6/2. You need to load them onto your loyalty card by 6/15 and the coupons expire 6/29.
- UPromise - instead of the coupon value being deducted from your total, the coupon value is added to your UPromise college savings account that can be used to pay for your child's college, contribute to a friend/relative's college fund, or pay back your own student loans. For more information on the Upromise eCoupons, click here. A wide variety of stores participate in the UPromise eCoupons.
- Shortcuts - You can use the coupons at Kroger and Safeway affiliated stores. You can add up to 50 coupons per store loyalty card (possibly only 50 coupons per Kroger store card...through all the eCoupon programs).
- P&G E-saver - Procter & Gamble coupons such as $0.50 off Pringles and $5.00 off Crest Whitestrips, etc. You can use the coupons at Kroger and Safeway affiliated stores.
- Bringing Hope to the Table - this is a new Kroger affiliated store eCoupon site. The coupons expire on 6/27.
Usually it takes about an hour after you load a coupon onto your card for it to be active, although it may take longer (up to 24 hours after your initially register). You can only add 1 of each coupon to your card (no multiples), and the eCoupons do not double, either. Once you use the coupon, it will drop off your card, and you can't use it again.

I wonder if my grocery chain has something like this?

I love e-coupons too! I've only ever had a problem getting credit with Cellfire - who also didn't respond at all when I emailed them. So I still use them but don't really count on it. I've read that Shortcuts is good about responding when a coupon doesn't come off at checkout.
