Have you signed up for the many free item coupons lately? I have...so I have several free candy bar coupons, a coupon for a free jumbo pack of beef hot dogs, and a coupon for a free Burt's Bees lip product.
So even though the item is technically free, is it possible to make the coupon worth more than free? Yes, it is. You just have to use the coupon in conjunction with other offers such as:
- Coupon for buy $$, get $$ off your order. This week when I visited my local CVS, I scanned my CVS ECB card as I walked in. A coupon for $10 off a $50 purchase printed out. CVS was having a lot of good deals, I had several free item coupons, and I had about $12 in ECB's to spend. So I thought I would at least see if I could make it up to the $50 with very little out of pocket (OOP). Remember, the $50 (at least at CVS) is before all coupons and ECB's are applied to your order. I was able to make it to $50 (just barely), and I spent almost nothing out of pocket. The free item coupons helped me get there.
- Extra Care Bucks (ECB's) Deal at CVS - If you can use your free item coupon plus earn ECB's, you are making money that you can use to spend on other items that you need, such as milk or diapers.
- Buy 1 Get 1 (B1G1) Free Sale - If you can use your coupon with a B1G1 free sale, then you can get 2 items for free.
