Between school, extra-curricular activities, and work, it can be difficult to get a hot dinner on the table for your family each and every night. Without these tricks, my family would be still waiting for dinner at 8 pm each evening...and that just doesn't work for my family since we need our sleep too!
Create a Weekly Meal Plan
When you have a meal plan, you know exactly what you're going to eat each day of the week and you can do any prep work the night before. It makes it so much easier to cook dinner when you pulled the meat out of the freezer to thaw the night before! Plus, you can add any marinades or chop up any vegetables that will stay fresh in the fridge until dinner the next day.
Have a Monthly Freezer Cooking Day
Make sure you either schedule a day to create a few freezer meals each month or simply double your favorite recipes and add the second portion to your freezer for a future meal. Then, you can simply pull the meal out of the freezer to use for dinner that night.
Use Your Slow Cooker
If you don't even have time for a freezer meal to cook in the oven between sports practices and other activities, put your slow cooker to work! Add all the ingredients to your slow cooker in the morning and dinner will be ready when you are.
Pick Up a Papa Murphy's Pizza
For those nights when you want an easy meal, pick up a Papa Murphy's take 'n' bake pizza. They do all the work of putting the pizza together for you, and all you have to do is bake it when you're ready for dinner. Fresh, hot pizza straight from the oven...yum!
Why I love Papa Murphy's Pizza:
- Convenience - I can pick up the pizza when I'm already running errands rather than having to wait until right before we eat (perfect for avoiding rush hour traffic!). You can even place your order online at many locations so your pizza is ready and waiting for you when you walk in. We bake it when we're ready to eat and it comes out of the oven hot and fresh.
- Fresh Ingredients - Papa Murphy's uses scratch-made dough (that is mixed up daily), 100% whole milk mozzarella cheese, and fresh and hand-chopped vegetables. And they include a ton of toppings and cheese on our pizzas.
- Customization - You can choose between original, thin, pan, stuffed, or gluten free* pizza crust. I've tried everything but the gluten free, and our family favorites are the original and stuffed pizzas. But, the thin Gourmet Delite pizzas are amazing too (especially the Herb Chicken Mediterranean)! If there are toppings your family doesn't love, you can ask them to exclude them (or make your pizza half and half) since they make the pizzas right in front of you.
- No mess - Papa Murphy's pizzas are made on a cardboard tray that you can slide right into the oven, so there are no pans to clean after dinner.
- Delicious - Besides being fresh from the oven, most importantly we just love the quantity and quality of ingredients in Papa Murphy's pizza. It's a family favorite for sure.
* Papa Murphy’s is not a certified gluten free kitchen.
