Hi, and welcome to "Cents"able Momma. I am married to a wonderful husband and stay at home with 2 rambunctious, but fun boys (7 and 4). During tax season, I work part-time during the evenings and weekends as a tax professional.
I've always been a "frugal" person, but I discovered the land of frugal blogs in May of 2008 where I learned even more techniques. God led me to those blogs, because about 2 weeks later I was unexpectedly laid off from my at-home part-time job. I didn't work many hours at home, but it was enough to earn some extra money for my family. So, now, I could save money for my family.
I intend to share what I've learned from playing the Drugstore Game (as it's called...shopping for "free" items at CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid), and share some of the good deals that I happen to run across. I'll also share some of my techniques for earning some extra money here and there
I am by no means perfect at this, but I hope to share some of my frugal journey with others and help link them to others that can help them too. I am trying to be the steward of our family resources that God wants me to be.

Hey Centsable Momma! I am excited to find your blog! I am a relatively new SAHM--I worked as an auditor with Ernst & Young previously, and we had our 1st child when I was 31, so I am still in the learning curve!
I am curious if you were doing tax work prior to being at home, and if you have any ideas on doing accounting work from home?
At EY, even "flex-time" wouldn't work for us, with two small children 2 & under, because there are still seasons where you're working 40 or 40+ hrs/week, and at that point, I might as well get a full-time job with regular hours and find consistent childcare.
All that to say, I'm looking for ways to add to the "bottom line" of our household--in both cutting costs and increasing income--so I'm excited to find any ideas you might have!
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Becky,
This is actually my first year as a tax professional and I work at one of the tax services (I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say here), so it's great for scheduling hours, since we're all part-time. I usually work about 7-10 hours a week, so I'm not away from my family too much. It's definitely a pay decrease from my pre-kids job, but it allows me to still stay at home (and I find it fun to work a few hours a week).
I try to give lots of different tips on small things that you can do at home to make a few dollars here and there (every little bit counts). This post (http://www.centsablemomma.com/2009/03/earn-extra-money-mystery-shopping.html) is kind of a summary of all the ways that I try to earn extra money.

Hi! I found your blog through the "Apron Full of Giveaways" page. And actually, what caught my eye was your name! Is it really Corrie, or is it short for something? It's my name, and that's it! I think I've met like, 2 other Corries ever, total. =)

Hi Corrie...Corrie is my real name :-). I get called Carrie and Connie all the time when people are reading my name off a list :-).
