Swagbucks: $5 Paypal GC only 55 Swagbucks

I’m sure by now everyone knows how much I love Swagbucks.  Basically, you use the Swagbucks site to search the internet (it’s powered by Google and Ask), and periodically you will win Swagbucks that you can then cash in for great prizes like Amazon, iTunes, Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, and even Paypal cash.

Each day this month, Swagbucks is slashing the price of a gift card.  Well, today a $5 Paypal gift card is only 55 swagbucks (normal price is 70).  You can cash in for up to 2 of these today, and check back tomorrow at 11 am PST to see what gift card will be reduced in price tomorrow.

How Does Swagbucks Paypal Work?

Basically, you order the Paypal card through Swagbucks.  You will receive an e-mail between 14-21 days from Swagbucks stating that you have been paid via Paypal.  They will ONLY send money to the e-mail address that you registered with Swagbucks, so you need to make sure you have a Paypal account with the same address (it’s free).

Swagbucks site states that once you receive the Paypal e-mail you have 30 days to claim your $5.  After 30 days the Paypal expires and no refunds will be issued.  I’m not sure what they mean by claim your $5.  Once I received the e-mail from Swagbucks, I also received an e-mail from Paypal.  I’m wondering if you have to claim it when they send it to a Paypal e-mail address that is not already set up as an account?

  1. Hey there 🙂 Funny enough I saw your post while searching on Swagbucks! LOL. I love that site as well.. it’s awesome. I’ve already cashed out several times, but usually I get giftcards. However, for their last promotion when they dropped the price on the PayPal cash, I decided to go for it, so I now have 4 Paypal payments pending. (already verified)

Since I’m new to cashing out via paypal with them, I was wondering if you knew how long they took to send the money. I’m somewhat worried about the “30 days to claim it” thing and I’m praying that I don’t miss the email somehow and lose my swagbucks.

Thanks for any kind of reply. 🙂 Hope my question wasn’t confusing.

By the way I really love your blog! 🙂 I also have a blog of my own but it’s not as neatly organized as yours lol.

Feel free to drop by if you ever feel like it.

    • Hi Trini,

Thanks for your question. I was also worried about the 30 day comment on their site, and I was hoping I wouldn’t miss the e-mail. I believe it took about 3 weeks to get the e-mail from Swagbucks (they state that it will take 14-21 days).

However, since they send the Paypal payment to the e-mail address that I had registered with Swagbucks, and I already have a Paypal account at that address, I also got an e-mail from Paypal about the same time as at Swagbucks, stating that I had a payment.

I wasn’t sure what the 30 day rule was, so I quickly transferred it to my bank account. But, I’m thinking that the 30 day rule is in case you don’t already have a Paypal account set up for your e-mail address. You have 30 days to set up the account and claim your payment. Otherwise it’s just sitting out there unclaimed and after 30 days disappears.

      I hope that helps!

  2. Definitely helped. 🙂 Thanks! It hasn’t been 3 weeks yet so I guess I’ll just keep looking out for that email.

I already have a paypal account as well so I’m not sure if it will just go in there or what.. but I check my email daily so I don’t think I’d miss it. 🙂 Thanks again for your help.
