5 Tricks to Save Money on Streaming Music

Streaming Music is a popular way to listen to music these days, but it doesn't have to cost a lot of money. Check out these 5 tricks to save money on streaming music for some of my best tips.

Long gone are the days of spending $10 to $15 on a CD. Why spend that on one CD when you could pay $10 (or less) per month to listen to unlimited music?

But some services can be really expensive. You may also be content with less music if you can get the service for free. Let’s take a closer look at how to save money on streaming music.

Make Sure You Have Unlimited Data

First things first. Music can eat up a lot of gigs. You want to make sure your phone or internet service is unlimited. Otherwise, you’ll quickly use up your data for that month. Also, if you have unlimited, make sure that your provider allows streaming services. Some companies don’t.

Look for Free Options

There are so many free options out there. Even companies that have paid services offer a free option. For example, Spotify and Pandora offer free streaming with commercials. Many of these free services have a limited selection and don’t allow you to skip through songs. Regardless, there are so many options that you’re bound to find something that works for you.

Signup for Free Trials

You also have the option to signup for free trials (like for Amazon Music Unlimited). You can just keep switching providers until you run out of free trials. This not only allows you to save on streaming music, but also allows you to see which service is best for you.

Compare Plans

You want to not only compare companies, but plans. Many companies offer more than one plan. For example, Amazon Music Unlimited has a plan that offers the ability to listen on several devices at once. If you have a large family that loves music, it may be worth the extra cost to get the more expensive plan.  Or, you can listen to music on just one device for a small amount each month.

Pay Attention to Use

Last, but not least, pay attention to use. If you find that you’re not steaming music that often, you should probably go back to using free services. There are so many to choose from that many casual music fans will be happy.

Music streaming services are a must for anyone that loves music. Of course, that doesn’t mean you have to spend a lot of money or any money at all. You can always go with a free-to-use streaming service and deal with commercials. If you’re a true music lover and listen every day, you’ll want to spend a bit of money to get a subscription plan. Regardless, always make sure you have unlimited data to handle streaming.
