Have you ever thought about trying Netflix, but you weren’t sure how it worked or if you’d use it enough to justify the expense?
Right now (it’s still available), you can get a FREE 1-month trial to test out Netflix (normally a 2-week trial). We have had a subscription for several years, and we love it. We stream movies and TV shows to our TV with the Wii (it also works with the Xbox 360, PS3, and a Roku player) and my iPad and Xyboard Tablet. We’ve worked through the entire Dick Van Dyke Show, Frasier, Cheers, and Everybody Loves Raymond, and we just started watching old Mission: Impossible episodes.
I also like how they just added Netflix Just for Kids (at least when we stream on our Wii). Netflix Just for Kids contains shows for the 12 and under crowd. While I may not allow my kids to watch everything listed there, at least they don’t have to scroll through the covers of horror movies, etc. that I might not want them to see.
If you don’t have cable, the $7.99 expense is a great way for us to supplement the shows available to us without the cable expense. We can even watch Netflix on our tablets and phones through the Netflix app.
