Have you ever wondered when your packages would be delivered and hoped that you’d be home to pull it off your porch? I have…I remember receiving a vacuum while we were gone on a weekend trip and hoping it would still be sitting there when we got home.

So, I’m so excited about the new UPS My Choice service. Basically, you register for the program (a basic membership is FREE) and you receive alerts via e-mail, text, or voice notification about shipments the day before a shipment arrives, the morning of, and/or delivery confirmation.

Now I know when to expect packages that I’ve ordered and even packages that I had no idea were coming since someone else sent me a surprise. When I get my delivery alert, I have the option to reroute my package to another delivery address or have it delivered to the nearest The UPS Store location for a $5 fee.

I can’t tell you enough how much I love this service. I really can’t believe that it’s free!

UPS My Choice also offers a Premium Membership for $40/year which gives you even more control – like access to an online delivery calendar and the ability to even give the UPS driver detailed instructions on where to leave the package.

Happy New Year! I wish you the best for this coming year!

I always feel like the New Year is an opportunity to start with a clean slate (which is why many people set New Year’s resolutions). I’d like to eat healthier, so I’m taking the baby step of giving up pop (Coke, soft drinks, etc) during January. We’ll see how it goes, since I’m a bit addicted.

I try to keep my orders organized by at least creating a subfolder in Gmail (and I love the search feature to find those orders I forget to file), but it’s still hard for me to keep track of everything.

I signed up tonight, and it quickly pulled in my info and highlighted the two outstanding orders that have not yet been delivered.

Plus, ShopSanity keeps track of price match information for stores, and they will e-mail you if you are entitled to a refund on a purchase you made because the price was reduced.

Kalahari Resorts: Sandusky – Our Trip

Several weeks ago, I mentioned that my family and I were going to take a trip to Kalahari Resorts in Sandusky, OH. We love visiting water parks, and we were so excited to visit Kalahari!

The decor throughout the resort is African-themed, and our rooms were amazing. I only wish that we were able to spend more time in the room! We had so much fun on our trip that I’m already planning on when we can go again.

Although my boys weren’t tall enough for all the slides, there’s truly something for everyone, including an indoor play place for the little ones, an arcade, putt-putt, mini-bowling, indoor and outdoor waterpark, Safari Outdoor Adventure Park, and much more.

My 8 year old absolutely loved the Safari Outdoor Adventure Park, especially the ropes course and zip-line. As you can see in the picture above, my son is practically running across the course, while most of the time on the course I’m clinging frantically to the pole, scared that I’m going to fall! He also did the zip-line about 5 or 6 times. The zip-line goes across the entire outdoor waterpark, so you have a great view of the park.

My 5 year old’s favorite part of the resort was wave pool. We spent almost the entire time that we were in the indoor water park either waiting for the waves or jumping in them. He is normally fairly scared of the water, and he had no fear there. He also enjoyed posing for the camera in the outdoor water park while his brother was on the ropes course

Although I also enjoyed the outdoor course and wave pool (among other things) with my boys, I also talked my son into riding the Swahili Swirl, which is a tube slide that ends in a vortex before you drop into the pool below. I thought it was really fun, and I love that you can ride it with up to 4 people. Even better, the rafts are sent up by conveyor belt, so you don’t have to drag them up the stairs yourself.

There are many restaurants throughout the resort, but each room also has a mini-fridge and microwave to help you cut down on expenses. Kalahari Resorts also has an exclusive offer for my readers to save on your stay.
