Let's face it. Moms don't have a lot of time to keep their homes clean. However, if you've ever been to the home of another mom who seems to have a spotless home, you may be wondering how she does it. The truth is there are simple things you can do each evening that will make it easier to keep your home clean on a schedule. Let's take a closer look at evening housekeeping routines for busy moms.
Wipe Down Surfaces
Each evening, you want to quickly wipe down the surfaces of your home. A microfiber cloth is great for running over all the surfaces that need to be dusted. You can then use cleaning wipes for your counter tops, table, and appliances. Just make sure you're using wipes that are safe for the surfaces in your home.
Spot Clean the Floors
Once you've swept up any dirt and crumbs, you want to take the time to quickly run a wet mop, such as the Swiffer Wet Jet, in the high traffic areas of your home. This isn't meant to be a deep cleaning. However, if you do this every evening, it will make it much easier to do a thorough cleaning when the time comes.
Do a Load of Laundry
If you want to make your life much easier, wash a load of laundry each night. This will prevent the need to devote an entire day to laundry. If you have clothes that are different colors, use Shout Coloring Catcher sheets. These work amazingly well and allow you to mix colors so that you have a full load of laundry to wash.
Put Things Away
Go around each room and gather any items that aren't in their designated spots. You can put the items that belong in that room away and then you can drop items off in the other rooms. For example, if they are your kids items, you can take the items to their room for them to put away.
Start the Dishwasher Before Bed
Last, but not least, fill and start your dishwasher before going to bed. You want to do this even if your dishwasher isn't completely full. If you wait until the next day, you'll have more dishes than will fit. If you have the option, run only one rack of the dishwasher, if needed. Regardless, doing this each evening will prevent the dishes from getting out of hand.
You don't have to be a superhero to get keep your home clean as a busy mom. All you need to do is stay on top of things by doing a bit of cleaning each night.

I wish I had a dishwasher!

I know that feeling! We didn't have a dishwasher in our first house for awhile. If you don't have a dishwasher, hand washing your dishes each night before bed will help you start the next day with a clean kitchen.
