We all have those moments when our favorite clothing pieces seem to betray us. It might be a bra strap making our cute dress look a bit trashy or our favorite sweater starting to look a bit ratty. We don't even want to talk about how our favorite pieces are starting to make our closet a bit too full.
If only there were some little tricks we could use to make our favorite pieces our favorites again. Thankfully, there are. Let's take a closer look at just a few clothing hacks.
Hide Bra Straps with a Hair Tie
We all have cute tops and dresses that aren't really made to wear with a bra. Sure, you could wear a strapless bra, but those offer so little support that you might as well go without a bra. However, we all know that's not possible for most women.
Instead of letting your bra straps show, use a hair tie to tie your bra straps together so that they stay in place behind the straps of your top or dress. You can also use a paper clip or binder clip, but the binder clip can cause some weird lumps under the fabric.
Use a Razor to Give Your Favorite Sweater a Face Lift
Is your favorite sweater pilling? Instead of tossing it, use a razor to shave away the pilling. It takes a bit of time, but soon your sweater will look brand new. Make sure you have a new razor (a cheap disposable razor will work great) and that you don't apply too much pressure. If you use too much pressure, you risk cutting the fabric.
Add a Dot of Super Glue to Keep Buttons From Popping Off
Don't you hate it when your favorite shirt loses a button? When you get a new shirt, take a bit of precaution and add a dot of super glue to each button. You want to add just enough to cover the thread. You can do this to both sides of the button. This will strengthen the thread and help prevent the thread from breaking.
Cover Bleach Stains with a Sharpie
Did you accidentally get bleach on your favorite pair of black pants? Use a black Sharpie to cover the stains. Sharpie markers are permanent and will last through several washings. If the Sharpie starts to fade, just reapply.
Clear Closet Clutter by Using a Circular Hook
You can find hangers that are circular. These are made for accessories, but work perfectly for hanging your spaghetti strap tank tops. During the summer months, this will clear out so much room in your closet.
These clothing hacks can make a huge difference in your life. Best of all, many of these can help you save your favorite pieces of clothing from heading to the trash can.
