
There are several free kids activities this weekend:
- Lowe’s Build & Grow Clinic: on Saturday (12/3), from 10 – 11 am, visit Lowe’s to build a free Caboose. This is the first part of the 2011 Build & Grow Train. The workshops are geared for children from about 1st-5th grade, and parents need to remain with their child. The first 50 kids to sign up get a kit, work apron, and safety goggles for free. You should register for the workshop to ensure you will receive a kit.
- Home Depot: on Saturday (12/3) from 9 am to noon, visit your local Home Depot to build a Snowman Napkin Holder. In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates’ aprons, and an achievement pin.
- Lakeshore Learning Store: on Saturday (12/3), from 11 am – 3 pm, visit Lakeshore Learning Center to create a free Magnetic Mitten Notepad.
- Michaels: visit Michaels on Saturday (12/3) for the start of the Passport to Imagination. Between 10 and noon, you can create a Christmas Calendar, and you can create a Stocking between noon and 2 pm.
- Archiver’s: visit December 1-5th for a Free Card Make & Take using transparencies and punches. Plus, the Free Holiday Card Showcase continues – call now to reserve your spot. Visit Archiver’s on Friday or Saturday nights from 5-11 pm for six undisturbed hours of scrapbooking and socializing. Just pay a $5 reservation fee to save your spot. Then when you arrive, you’ll receive a $5 merchandise voucher to use that night.
- Lego Store: visit your local LEGO store on 12/6 from 5 pm until supplies last for a free mini model build. This month your child aged 6 to 14 can build a free LEGO Nutcracker.
- Toys R Us: visit Toys R Us on Saturday (12/3) from 12 pm to 3 pm for a Countdown to Christmas where children ages 3 and up will enjoy meeting Geoffrey, coloring a Countdown to Christmas Calendar, plus a demo of the FAO Schwarz Big Piano. Free giveaways to participants while supplies last.
- Bass Pro: visit Bass Pro now through December 24th for Santa’s Wonderland. Come out for free Photos with Santa (4 x 6 studio quality), free Crafts, and free Games & Activities including, activity tables, laser arcades, moving trains and more.
- Pottery Barn: visit Saturday (12/3) at 10 am for National Geographic Little Explorers this session on Penguins. Children ages 3 and up will learn all about penguins and receive a badge for being there. Children who attend all sessions receive a special prize. Visit Tuesday (12/6 & 12/13) for Holiday Story Time with the Grinch. Receive a Grinch activity booklet while supplies last.
- Bank of America: Museums on Us: This weekend (12/3-12/4/11), each Bank of America cardholder gets free admission to over 100 museums nationwide.
- Target: Check for FREE museum events in a city near you
- Walmart: there are several in-store events this weekend. Check your local store for hours and participation
