I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’ve had some issues with my site moving slowly at times and a couple of instances when it was down altogether. Not only is that frustrating to me, but I know that it frustrates you too.
So, today I will be moving to a new server that will hopefully speed things up a bit and limit the downtime.
What this means:
- I have one more post scheduled today – the Top Restaurant and Retail Coupons – and then my tech guy will take over moving everything over to the new server.
- Once he moves it over, it will take about 24-48 hours for your ISP to refresh the DNS (Domain Name Server) so that you see the new page. In the meantime, you will still be able to see the old site, with possibly a white screen for a short period, if you visit at the right time.
- Hopefully it will refresh quickly on my own computer, so that I will have the Rite Aid, CVS, and Walgreens deals up as soon as I can tomorrow.
- You will begin to see the new posts once the DNS has refreshed for your own computer.
A few tips to refresh the DNS on your own computer:
- After closing all browser windows, Click Start < Accessories < Command Prompt. At the prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns (exactly as you see it) and press Enter.
- If you’re on a PC, you can click CTRL AND F5 key to clear your cache for the page you are currently on
