Fun Easter Ideas

As with Christmas, there are many factors competing for our attention at Easter.  Last year, I did a series on various ways to keep the focus on Christ at Easter.  Some highlights include:

• We make our own chocolate cross for the Easter basket.
• How We Share the Meaning of Easter with our Kids – I share some of our favorite books, videos, and music of the season.
• Make Resurrection Buns – these are a great visual illustration of the burial and resurrection of Christ, they are fun to make with your kids, and they are yummy!
• Walk Through Holy Week with Jesus – Read verses from the Bible each week leading up to Easter

Other Ideas from Readers

• Hide a few empty eggs along with those filled with candy to remind your kids that the tomb was empty
• This reader creates her own Resurrection Eggs – I get a dozen plastic Easter eggs with different items in them symbolic of a part of the Easter story and an accompanying Scripture.
• Take a “new life walk” outdoors, searching out tiny shoots, sprouting buds on trees and eggs in birds’ nests.
