Pillsbury Ready to Bake Cookies Review & Giveaway

by Corrie @ "Cents"able Momma on November 18, 2009

My boys love to help me bake.  Whenever they notice that I’m making something they always come running and drag a chair across the kitchen so they can see exactly what’s going on.  While I love to let them “help” me…it’s usually things like measuring the sugar or pouring the flour into the bowl.  Their “help” usually costs me an extra half hour of cleaning (at least) at the end :-) .

So, when Pillsbury asked me to try their Ready to Bake cookies, I was excited.  As you can see from the picture, it was extremely easy for my boys to help put the cookies on the baking pan, and they felt like they were “their” cookies.

As the daughter of a very talented baker, I usually make all my cookies from scratch, but the last couple of years, I have been know to “cheat” on my sugar cookies.  If I have to go to all the trouble to roll them out and decorate them, I will usually buy a roll of sugar cookie dough to “ease the process”.  But, I hadn’t tried the decorative colors yet.  They were very easy and yummy.  Plus, if the kids still want to decorate the cookies, they can add frosting and sprinkles.

Although my boys and I decorated with a fun Snowman shape, there are many shapes to be found…Thanksgiving shapes and even reindeer shapes for Christmas.

Fresh Candied Sweet Potatoes have to be on our table every year! Before the meal begins we say Grace, then one at a time we all tell what we are most thankful for. Some responses are short & sweet others are more elaborate but most of the time we all end up a bit tearful & more thankful! Thanks for this great giveaway! Have a safe & happy Thanksgiving!
