CVS $5 Challenge – week of 11/22

by Corrie @ "Cents"able Momma on November 21, 2009

The goal of this CVS challenge is to come up with up to 3 scenarios where the total spent out of pocket is $5, while still growing your ECB’s. I’m going to assume that you start out with zero ECB’s to start with, or it makes it too difficult for others to follow. If you do have ECB’s to start, you can reduce your OOP to almost zero.

For more information on the abbreviations used in this post, please see my Coupons 101 article. For more information about shopping at CVS, visit my CVS 101 article.  For additional scenarios, please visit Keeping the Kingdom First, Money Saving Mom, and Deal Seeking Mom.

Well, the deals are not that great the first part of the week (except for the Complete lens solution moneymaker)…probably because the Black Friday deals are usually pretty good.  I’ll probably add some additional Black Friday scenarios once I do my coupon matchups for the ad.

Transaction #1

Buy Complete Multi-Purpose Contact Solution 12 oz. $8.99 (limit 2, so you could do this twice)
Use $1.00 QP from 10/25 RP or printable QP

Total after Coupons: $7.99
ECB’s Earned: $8.99

That’s it…I don’t see much else worth purchasing…save your ECB’s for Black Friday.

Total Purchase Price (before QP’s and ECB’s): $8.99
Total OOP: $7.99

ECB’s Left: $8.99
