Thanks…I've added something about the acceptance is usually up to the individual store, and they usually will only accept coupons from "true" competitors – in the local area, with a pharmacy, etc.

CVS accepted the Target coupon for me yesterday, however Meijer would not because the two Target stores in my area do not have a pharmacy. You might want to mention that your chances of using a competitor's coupon successfully is decreased if you do not have a Target pharmacy at your local Target store. Meijer was nit-picky on that detail while CVS was not (thankfully).

I used to work at CVS and as far as I know, not all stores accept competitor's coupons. Usually the bigger stores do, but it is up to the manager's discretion. At least that is how it was as little as 6 months ago. I would suggest calling your CVS before you make the trip.
