We usually spend a bit more to get a rustic cabin ( no electricity, but 4 walls and a locked door give me peace of mind). I think $21/night is one of the cheaper state parks in MI (unless you go to a site with no facilities). We've been doing this as our "vacation" for four years now. We get away from the phone, work, etc. but spend very little money. The site we camp at only costs $7 per night. We stayed for three, so it was only $21! <br /><br />We spent most of the days swimming but we also brought bikes and did a bit of bike riding! :D<br /><br />The food we brought with us was mostly snacks and hot dogs I had gotten for free or almost free with coupons.
