Skinny on Credit Cards Review and Giveaway

I was recently given the opportunity to read an advance copy of Jim Randel’s newest book, called The Skinny on Credit Cards, How to Master the Credit Card Game. I agreed to read the book for several reasons:

  • I like to read finance books (I guess that’s the business major in me coming out)
  • Credit cards are a very relevant topic these days
  • Jim Randel uses stick figures to illustrate the book, making it read much like a comic book – I found that concept interesting

Jim Randel’s theory is that Generation Y does not have the patience to sit down and read a full finance book, so he created his “the skinny on” series based on Japanese Manga, but using stick figures in his books.

I found the book to be a very easy read, and it was packed with lots of basic information on credit cards and how they work. Mr. Randel also includes a bit of humor with the stick figures, which I thought was great! If you click here, you can see the first pages of the book to see how the stick figure style works or you can visit Jim Randel’s site, The Skinny On.

Even better, you can win your very own copy of The Skinny on Credit Cards as well as another book he wrote recently, called The Skinny on the Housing Crisis (also a good book). To enter, please leave a comment, and I’ll choose a winner using Random.org on Monday (5/4) at noon. If you don’t have an easily accessible e-mail address on a blog, please leave your e-mail address also so I can contact the winner.

This book looks interesting. Hubby and I could always use a little extra $$ advice. I suppose you would consider us Generation Y, but its not that we aren’t patient, its that we don’t have time!

Ooooh a different sort of giveaway! I love it! This would be great for my DH and myself. I totally don’t understand credit cards. Sigh.
