Walgreens and Rite Aid Trip this Week

Walgreens

Another bad trip to Walgreens where Register Rewards didn’t print out. The first one was my fault, because I originally only purchased 2 Dr. Pepper 2-liters, instead of 3 (since the site that I used to print off my coupon matches only stated 2…lesson learned…double check the ad before I buy). The Colgate toothpaste RR, though, also didn’t print. The manager stated that it was because I used a manfacturer’s coupon, so the RR wouldn’t print. He pointed to the fine print at the end of the ad that said that there were some restrictions on the RR’s. I tried calling Walgreens, but they were closed for the day, so I’ll call again today, and hopefully clarify Walgreen’s coupon policy. For now, I’ve decided that I will not buy any more deals with RR’s. They’re too much trouble.

Purchased:
Printworks printer paper $3.99
Inkjet printer cartridge refill $5.00
Hershey’s Special Dark $0.89
Hershey’s Almond Free with in-ad B1G1 free QP
Carefree pantiliners $0.99 with in-ad coupon (from my MIL’s ad…since it wasn’t in my regional ad)
Colgate MaxFresh $2.99
(2) Dr. Pepper 2-liters $4.00

Used:
$0.89 Hershey’s B1G1 Free QP from 11/9 or 1/25 S
$1.00 Carefree QP from 2/09 Parents magazine (QP also in Shape magazine or $0.50 printable)
$0.75 Colgate QP from 1/18 S (some people got $1.00 QP)
$10.00 RR from Pepsi deal a couple of weeks ago.

Total OOP: $4.87 on Walgreens GC

Will Receive: $5.00
$5.00 ESR for printer ink refill
Should have received $2.00 RR for Dr. Pepper and $2.00 RR for Colgate. The manager gave me $0.75 for the Dr. Pepper ($2.00 minus the $1.33 to purchase another 1) and $1.25 for the Colgate (to bring my $0.75 QP to the $2.00 for the RR). I know confusing…which is why I now don’t like RR’s.

Rite Aid

Purchased:
Garnier Fructis Body Boost conditioner $2.99
Veet Bladeless Razor Kit $3.99 – watch that this rings up correctly. The cashier had to manually change the price, since the sale price wasn’t in their system.

Used:
$1.00 Garnier Fructis QP from 10/5, 11/9, or 1/4 RP
$2.00 Veet printable – not all Rite Aid’s will accept printable coupons

Total OOP: $4.40

Will Receive: $5.99 in SCR
$2.99 for Garnier Fructis #71
$3.00 for Veet #61

I did the colgate deal and used a coupon, my register reward printed and then I used it toward my ink refill.

I agree with you on the RR!! They are so complicated and Walgreens seems to make up new rules everyday. I have stopped doing the RR because it is a gamble. The CVS Extra Bucks are so much easier and if the Extra Bucks don’t print Cvs will fix it immediately!! The Extra Bucks rules are clearly stated and don’t change. You can also use coupons with EB deals and not have any problems! Can you tell I prefer CVS??

My colgate RR printed. But, at Rite Aid, I also had to correct the price of the Veet. It was clearanced marked for 50% off, but it still was more than the sale price in the ad.

I used one of the $1.50 coupons and the RR still printed out fine for me, are you sure the size was the right one. I do agree though, that the RR deals are VERY confusing. I thought about doing the Degree or the Alka Seltzer, but once at the store, I couldn’t figure out which ones it was for and no one at the store was very helpful either.

I’m with you, I don’t do the Walgreen’s RR. It’s just too much trouble, when can you use them, etc. I know some people have great success, but it’s too much trouble for me, especially when CVS is right across the street.

I miss living by CVS. We have 2 walgreen’s by us; if you use a coupon for a RR product at one location, the RR won’t print. If you use it at the other, they print just fine. I too, no longer count on the RR’s. Such a hassle sometimes.

Walgreen’s can be so complicated at times that’s why I reduced my shopping trips there. I like for things to run smoothly when I shop. I hope Walgreens’ gives you your RR’s.

I also did the colgate deal using a coupon and it worked fine. Well, not exactly fine, I accidentally bought two at once so only one RR printed out but I just walked right back to the return counter and explained. They returned it and I re-purchased it and got the RR. You do have to make sure you have the right size. It took me forever to find a box that was the same in ounces as the ad stated. Definately call them, I think they will make it good.
