The goal of this CVS challenge is to come up with up to 3 scenarios where the total spent out of pocket is $5, while still growing your ECB’s. I’m going to assume that you start out with zero ECB’s to start with, or it makes it too difficult for others to follow. For more information on the abbreviations used in this post, please see my Coupons 101 article. For more CVS scenarios, see Keeping the Kingdom First, Money Saving Mom, Deal Seeking Mom, or the “Cent”sible Sawyer.

Transaction #1

Buy Rolaids Product – cheapest is $2.49
Buy (3) Johnson & Johnson “trial” sized First Aid Kits $0.99 each (2.97 total)
Use $1.00 Rolaids QP from 9/14 RP or 10/5 RP
Use $3/2 J&J First Aid kit printable – you’ll need to scroll through for the coupon. They may not allow overage, so purchase 3 kits to be safe.

Total after coupons: $1.46
ECB’s Earned: $2.00

Transaction #2

Buy Brut deodorant $3.49 – December ECB catalog
Buy Powerade (32 oz.) $1.59
Use $1.00 Brut QP from December All Youicon
Use $2.00 ECB’s from previous transaction

Total after coupons: $2.08
ECB’s Earned: $3.59

Transaction #3

Buy Theraflu Warming Relief $5.99 – December ECB catalog
Use $2.00 Theraflu QP from 10/19 S or $2 printable or $1.50 from 12/7 S. Also, send away for full mail in rebate in 10/19 S
Use $3.59 ECB’s from previous transaction

Total after coupons: $0.40
ECB’s Earned: $2.00 plus Theraflu $5.99 mail in rebate

Total OOP: $3.94
ECB’s Left Over: $2.00

Additional Good Deals

Buy (3) Pro Max Bars $1.66 each ($4.98 total) – December ECB catalog
Use (3) Pro Max QP’s from 10/26 S – I didn’t get these in my newspaper, so I couldn’t use it for my scenarios
Get $5 in ECB’s – so a moneymake if you have the QP’s

Buy Complete Eye Solution $8.99 – December ECB catalog
Use $2.00 Complete printable or $1.00 QP from 10/26 RP
Get $8.99 in ECB’s – moneymake with QP’s
